North Carolina Trip: Part 1

Back in August, as a family, we decided to try our first "house rental," vacation.  I could not have been more pleased with the location and property that we selected. The house was amazing and had plenty of room for all of us. Kure Beach was super cute and quaint beach town in North Carolina about 30 minutes outside of Whilmington. There were all the typical beach shops, ice cream parlors (that we didn't hesitate to visit EVERY NIGHT! :)), and gift shops. We spent a whole week sleeping in, going to the beach, cooking, eating, site seeing, napping, playing games, and did I mention ice-creaming enjoying?  It was not only Grays first beach experience, but Noras too. It was so fun to see them both fall in love with the sand and water!

Heres a peek at the first few days where we tried to soak up as much vitamin D as possible!

The first day... Loving the sand!
Still not sure about the water and the huge waves!

Sand castle building was a very serious job!

Engineer Joe making sure the building was up to par
"Okay ocean, maybe Ill give you a try tomorrow..."
 Day 2
Willing to try the ocean, as long as she was being held by dad

 Melt my heart!
 "This is so much fun!"
I cant get enough of diaper free hineys! Is that not the cutest?
 Day 3

We went down to the shore to try and see a sea turtle hatching, missed it on this trip, but got to see one later in the week!
Couldn't pass up the chance to wear glow necklaces on the beach
Gray absolutely LOVES her cousin Nora, and talks about her constantly! It was so fun to get to watch these two play all week. We even had a few slumber party nights! I can not wait for them to move back to OK so we can have days like this all the time. Only a few short months! (They will also have another beach adventure this summer when we go to the Dominican Republic for Nickolas and Angelas wedding. So looking forward to it!)

More days and more pics coming soon!
