Happy Birthday Grammy!

Grammys birthday was a couple of weeks ago and she decided that she wanted to spend the day at the zoo with Gray! Of course she let Oompah, Joey and I go too :) It had already gotten so hot around here that we decided to head up early and see the sites before it was 100* out. It actually ended up being perfect weather and we all had a great time. Thanks for letting us spend the day with you Grammy! We love you so much!!!

Gray and the birthday girl waving hello!
We got to see the baby elephant again, she is growing almost as fast as Gray is! We decided to pose with her statue
"hey dont mind if I post up here on your ear do ya?"
We made it around to the part of the zoo that has the carousel this time and Gray got her first ride! She loved it!!
"now Grammy hold on tight, I dont want to fall off!"
family pic on the swan
Grammy and Gray watching the fish
For those of you that dont know, my mom is amazing!! I could make a list of all the ways that shes amazing, but I dont know if blogger would allow me the space. I only wish that every girl was as lucky as me to have such a wonderful mother!
Back in April my mom walked the whole Memorial Marathon for the THIRD time!! (she also did the half once) It has become tradition to take her out for a yummy breakfast after....her she is, medal and all!
"Team Mimi" photo (you cant see in the pic but Grays shirt says "Team Grammy" so cute!)
Angela and I stared making these to support my mom last year...I think its a new tradition :)
Please excuse that we all look a little rough, it was pouring the whole marathon and we were all soaked and freezing!

Splash Pad: From sweet and laying to sweet and playing, what a difference a year makes!

Remember this picture from last June?
This was Gray laying still (well, as still as Gray has ever been) in the shade of a tree at Andrews Park watching Hadlee play at the splash pad. I couldnt, at the time, wrap my head around the idea that she would ever be big enough to enjoy the pad herself. She was just too little, and she was always going to be that way, right?

fast forward one year....

Heres my lady now, enjoying the splash pad with Hadlee! Running, giggling, and enjoying the freedom that she now has. People always told me how fast it goes, you just dont realize it until times like these.

Run little lady, run!
"Hadlee, let go over there first, then we'll try something else"
Maddie was such a great helper and took the girls running through the water rainbow!
"Mads, I have really enjoyed playing down here, but could I have a turn now?"
"Weeee!!!!"
"Wow! That was refreshing!"
"look hads...this crazy stuff coming out of the ground is water!"
"Mads, you're so silly!"
I know that we will have many more trips to the splash pad, this year, and for years to come. I know that I will have another "how fast life goes" moment, Im just trying to enjoy them all as they come and watch my little lady grow. (maybe a little slower lady, mommy can only handle so much!)

Thirteen Months!

Okay so these next few post are going to be a tad out of order, but hey, at least they are coming right? On the Sixteen of June I got to celebrate not only Gray turning 13 months, but Joey and I also celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. I cant believe that we have been married that long...It seems like yesterday. We went out the next weekend and celebrated and Gray got to have another fun sleep-over at Grammy and Oompahs!
Gray at 13 months:
Has started saying a lot more words: ball, uh-oh, sit-down, no, balloon, "G" (when you ask her her name), coke, thank you, more, puppy, spider, cheese.... I know there are more...its just hard to remember them all!
Loves almost all food
Does NOT like milk
Loves being outside and swimming
Never stops moving.ever.ever when you want her to sleep.

So these were the best I could do with a little girl that is always on the move!
"guess how old I am?!?!"
"Thats right silly, Im 13 months old!"
Sweet face!
"Cheese"
This is Gray saying "spider" which means she wants you to sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to her, and she doesn't take no for an answer :)
As you can see on this particular day we were on our way to the pool so Gray was photographed in one of her many suits

Grays Birthday at the ZOO!

Monday was Grays actual birthday, after all the festivities the day before we decided to pack up and enjoy a day at the Zoo. The day was even more special because Daddy, Grammy and Tanner all took the day off to join us for the trip. Gray and Hadlee had both never been to the zoo, it was so much fun watching them experience it together, Im sure its just the first of many more "firsts" they will share. What a beautiful day!

We packed up Grays new wagon from Baba and Papa...it was the perfect way for these two ladies to ride in style!
"As long as Ive got my toothbrush and Poofs, Im good to go!"
Meeting Malee the new elephant, she is so tiny and so cute!! I couldnt get enough of her.
She finally tried to venture off from her mom and aunt so I was able to get a shoot of her!
Hadlee checking out the Monkeys!
Happy girl having a snack!
Family pic by Grays favorite animal, the giraffe!
Did you notice the amazing outfit that she got from Jenna and Layla...It was perfect for the Zoo!
Daddy was such a great driver, but we did try and give him a break every now and then!
"Holy cow mom! Thats a real giraffe!"
Sweet hugs from Hads
Is she not the cutest??? She loved this bronze giraffe!
"Ooh...look at this thing!"
I MADE Jenny sit on this egg...I thought it was too funny and a coincidence since shes nesting her own little egg right now! We cant wait for baby Wright #3 to get here in the fall!
The nest egg :)
"What.in.the.heck.is that daddy?"
Joey, the Lorikeet whisperer...this was right before her got pooped on!
Loving the petting zoo!
The new Childrens section of the Zoo is amazing...if you havent taken your kids, do it!
"really mom? its just a goat, on a bench, trying to lick my leg...whats the big deal?"
"Grammy this is SO much fun!"
We had such a wonderful day! Even though we were only able to stay for the morning, we got to see so much and cant wait for our next trip to see the rest!
Little lady passed out as soon as we got in the car!
She was pooped
