All About the Art (Grays 2nd Birthday Party Part 2)

As you saw in the last post, Grays party was art themed.  I tried to have several art activities to keep the kiddos busy, the main art project was they were each going to paint their own canvas. I wasn't sure how well it would turn out, or if the trays of paint were just going to become a complete disaster, but it went great!! I think all the kids had fun creating, and painting, and "spray painting."

All the canvases ready to go!
Gray had just woken up from her nap and wasn't exactly sure what the big fuss was all about
Checking everything out..
"wow, chalk, mom!"

Boston was one of the first to arrive, and he jumped right in with Gray
Trying out the "spray paint"
"watch Baba"
When she saw all her friends coming she kept saying
"oh my goodness!"
Jenna and Layla went right over to the play-doh and dug right in!
(this is layla)
(and Jenna)

Hadlee joined Gray in a lot of playhouse playing during the party
Janet came and decided to let Gray open her present early. It was the cutest bracelet and Gray loved it!
Sylas (my nephew that is 2 days younger than Gray) liked taking the party in from a distance.
Owen loved watching everyone being creative
Sweet Brooklyn
Janet was so helpful and changed the paper for Gray and Hadlee a million times during the party
Layla getting suited up for the serious art, this could get messy folks!
Gray moved these chairs a thousand times during the party. She loves moving and organizing stuff...she is her daddies daughter!
J and L "spray painting"
This art stuff takes a lot of a gal, had to stop to take a drink break...
and rearrange the chairs one last time!
Daddy and Robbie monitoring the party
Busy girls!
L trying a little chalk
Lillian wanted to get in on the spray paint action too!

Alright everyone, come and get a brush!
And they are off!
Boston jumped right in
Hadlee and Ellie
Miss Gray was so excited to paint
It wasn't long before everyone got in on the action

Chase was in the zone

Seriously love this pic of three of my favorite girls!
So proud of his masterpiece!
The final products... I think we have some future artists on our hands!

I think Layla would have said and worked on hers all afternoon!
but finally, it was complete!
While we got the food ready, the kids spent a little more time playing play-doh
and spray painting
"What? Im not suppose to be painting over here?"
"No Layla, this is my party, and Im cool with it...go for it!"
Hadlee and Spates finished up their blue chalk cat...
Then it was time to clean up for food, treats and presents!

Im so glad everyone had a fun time creating their own masterpiece as well as other pieces of art. Everyone clothes stayed clean, and hands were easily washed. Success if you ask me!!
Stayed turned for part 3! :)
